When designing for an exhibit we often overlook the overriding importance of lights. Usually, arm lights are popular fixtures that are often seen on any trade how exhibits. Traditionally, lighting design has been used in stage plays, concerts and fashion shows. Now that it is extending it's reach on trade show floors, you can integrate in your design some invigorating pendants. Granted, any fixture will shine some light on your booth, a funky shaped fixture or an exotic texture will definitely be an attention-getter and a conversation starter. For the Bio 2010 show we incorporated pendants from Ikea both for the Autralian Pavilion and the New Zealand Pavilion. The Knappa Pendant Light suspended from blue plexi ceiling, in the Australian Pavilion Exhibit highlighted the reception area with the allure that softened the truss structure. The tall Orgel Pendant Light featured in the New Zealand Pavilion created an initmacy in the interior sitting area and lend volume to an otherwise tall stark structure.
